nonelikejesus:

I want to start off this post by stating three things:
 1) There is nothing you can do that could keep God from loving you.
 2) You are always welcome inside the House of God (Church).
 3) Everyone is just as broken as you are, even if they don’t admit it.
I get this overwhelming feeling that half the reason many people don’t attend church is because they don’t feel worthy enough to go. It’s almost as if they feel they need to look, act, and be a certain way before stepping foot into a place of worship. But the last time I checked, God didn’t come for the healthy, but THE SICK (Mark 2:17).
I feel that there is an epidemic of self righteousness screaming across the nation, obstructing and preventing those who actually need the reclamation of God most.
We talk about being a church of ACCEPTANCE and HUMBLENESS, but how many people step foot into a church, never to return because they feel they are not “good enough” by someones standards other than Gods.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying we should water down any teaching, or ignore peoples sinful nature. But what I do think we should do is emphasize on the fact that we all started somewhere. And just because someones downfall is something we’ve never personally experienced, does NOT mean they don’t deserve the same amount of LOVE and GRACE that we once received.
Let us be advocates to the veracity of TRANSPARENCY, and the fact that we are ALL BROKEN and in need of a savior.
Your baggage and burdens are beautiful in the eyes of God. For He can turn baggage into beauty.
